The very next day, I heard on a Sunday new talk show that the proposed Obama Administration budget will include tax hikes on energy that will result in an increased cost of electricity and gasoline. This is the same Obama Administration that has vowed to only raise taxes on individuals making over $250,000 per year. I did not attend Harvard University or any other Ivy League school. However, I do understand that the proposed tax hike on energy will increase the cost of living for all Americans and hurt the poor the most by increasing the cost of electricity and gasoline. I am now wondering whether or not this renown professor who considers himself a champion of truth and justice will challenge President Obama on his proposed budget relative to the needs of the poor.
Whether this professor does or not, I do hereby protest President Obama's budget proposal relative to an increase in energy taxes. The proposed energy tax hike is an injustice to the poor…and that IS truth. "He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, but he who honors Him has mercy on the needy." Proverbs 14:31.
The proposed energy tax hike demonstrates a lack of wisdom relative to the needs of the American people, especially the poor. The entire issue of raising taxes on "the rich" also demonstrates a lack of wisdom relative to the needs of the American people. It is unrealistic to think that if taxes are raised on the rich, the hike will not be passed on to the consumer through a hike in the cost of goods and services. If the cost of living rises, "the rich" will not be hurt…but the poor will.
It is a sad commentary that an administration that contains persons educated at some of the "best" schools in the nation who are supposed to have the "brightest" minds in their fields can come up with solutions that demonstrate a gross lack of wisdom. Evidently President Obama has assembled a group of Godless people who "shame the counsel of the poor". Psalm 14:1 says, "The fool has said in his heart, 'There is no God'. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none who does good." Relative to the proposed budget and the needs of the poor, the people of the United States of America deserve better than what they are getting in the Obama cabinet.
"Congress shall make no law...abridging...the right of the people...to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression Constitution of the United States of America
