Jeremiah Wright Does Not Owe Barack Obama Anything

"Owe no man anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law." Romans 13:8

Much has been said about Rev. Jeremiah Wright speaking out about the infamous sound bites and video clips that have made his name a household word. Much has also been said about Rev. Wright accepting speaking engagements while Barack Obana is running for President. Many feel that Rev. Wright should not

make any public appearances or speak out because doing so will hurt Barack Obama's campaign efforts.

Should Rev. Wright hide under a rock just because Barack Obama is running for President of the United States? Absolutely not. If Barack Obama cannot be successful in his bid for President unless someone else "goes into hiding", then Senator Obama has no business running for office. Why would any voter vote for or not vote for a candidate based on someone else's behavior?

Political strategists like to cast shadows on political candidates by association. They think if they can plant a thought (good or bad) about a candidate in the minds of voters using a third party, then they can sway voters in a desired direction. The sad thing about this tactic is that this strategy has nothing to do with the issues that a candidate would have to address if elected. Voters who fall for this tactic would vote or not vote for a candidate for reasons that have nothing to do with the responsibilities of being an elected official.

In the case of Barack Obama, strategists are using Rev. Wright to sway voters against voting for Obama. The Obama campaign knows this but refuses to stand up to such tactics and call it what it is: rubbish and an insult to the American voter. The Obama Campagin would rather Rev. Wright go and hide under a rock to appease political strategists rather than stand up to such disgusting political tactics. If Barack Obama is too weak to stand up to evil political strategies, how can he be leader of the free world? What else would he "bow down" to?

Presidential race or no Presidential race, Rev. Wright has a right to live his life. Evidently some people want to hear from him. The media complained during his silence that he had not commented on the infamous sound bites and video clips aired about him. They wanted to hear from him. Organizations such as the NAACP wanted to hear from Rev. Wright too. That is why they invited him to speak at their conference. The National Press Club also wanted to hear from Rev. Wright. They also had him to speak before them. If all of these organizations are asking Rev. Wright to speak, why are they not being criticized? Why not blast the media for demanding a comment on the sound bites and video clips until AFTER the Presidential election? Why not castigate the NAACP for inviting Rev. Wright to be their keynote speaker? It does not take much to understand that if the NAACP had not invited him, he would not have made the speech. Why not castigate the National Press Club for inviting Rev. Wright to speak? If they had not asked him, he would not have spoken to them either. If any other organization or church asks Rev. Wright to speak, why not organize a protest against that organization or church? Sounds stupid doesn't it? That is just how stupid it sounds to criticize Rev. Wright for living his life in spite of the Obama Campaign. The office of President of the United States is not worth ANY private citizen who is not running for politcal office, putting his or her life on hold so that someone else can sit in the Oval Office - unless that person chooses to do so.

Rev. Wright cannot bear the burden of Barack Obama's campaign. If Barack Obama cannot convince voters he is the right candidate for the job regardless of what Rev. Jeremiah Wright does or does not do, then… It is not Rev. Wright's responsibility to get Barack Obama elected. Life goes on regardless of who wins the Presidential bid. Rev. Wright has a right to his life just as everyone else has.
