A Word About Bill Ayers and Barack Obama

As the third 2008 Presidential Debate is hours away, there is much speculation about what Senator John McCain will talk about during the debate. Many voters want him to stress the economy. Other voters want him to ask Senator Obama about Bill Ayers.

If Senator John McCain does bring up Bill Ayers, what questions should he ask Senator Obama? Two questions come to mind. 1) How much do you know about Bill Ayers philosophy relative to the principles upon which our republic has been established? 2) How much of Bill Ayers philosophy do you ascribe to? These are the only questions concerning Bill Ayers that should really matter. Voters do have a right to know.

What Senator John McCain does not ask, members of the press should. That may be difficult to do with many members of the media favoring Senator Obama. However, those media members who are on Fox News Channel should ask those questions.

For all the hoopla about Senator Obama's association with Bill Ayers's I have not heard any member of the media, including those on Fox News Channel say this is what Bill Ayers believes (other than bomb the Capitol and kill your parents -- Who in their right mind would ascribe to that?) and here is what Senator Obama believes. All that is being reported is that Senator Obama had a fundraiser at the home of Mr. Ayers. That tidbit of information is not enough for voters to make an informed decision relative to Bill Ayers.

If there is really a potential threat to the principles of our republic because of Senator Obama's "association" with Bill Ayers, then state very clearly and emphatically what that threat is. Inform the voters so they can make an informed decision. Do not rely on innuendo to do the job. Voters are smarter than that and should be respected as so. Do not insult the voters with gossip and innuendo. Accurately and thoroughly inform them of anything and everything that they should know before they cast their votes. If such information is not given, then members of the media, including Fox New Channel, are not doing their jobs, just as members of Congress have been accused of not doing their jobs concerning matters relative to our country's finances and the economy. The pot cannot talk about the kettle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Senator John McCain is a Presidential Candidate. The American people are looking to him for leadership, it is true. However, he cannot make up for the failure of the media to do its job. No one can. Nor should he be expected to do so.
